Presented here are works that encompass still images - created, drawn, collaged, and depicted from a conscious and subconscious visual memory. To be read like a modern-day codex, the mixture of representation and abstraction form a language of nuanced symbols. Initially presenting themselves to be singular pieces, a coded strand pervades the symbols collectively, creating a common milieu of thought and language, one that builds a progressive image of the human condition. The subject matter dealt with traverses the whole gamut of life, but focuses on the themes of subjection, annihilation, and an as-yet emancipation of the human condition and of the natural environment. The artist received an undergraduate liberal arts degree in 2001, graduating from both the departments of religion and philosophy, and art (drawing, painting, and sculpture).
